Melbourne Dog Rescue believe all dogs should be given a second chance at life.
[ Who We Are ]
Melbourne Dog Rescue Inc. is an incorporated, non- profit organisation who rely on the contributions of members and volunteers, fundraising and public support, by means of good will, fostering and adopting, to enable them to help the dogs.
Based in Bayside Victoria, MDR is run by dedicated volunteers, who devote their valuable time, energy and money into saving dogs that remain unclaimed facing death row - in pounds, but who are very deserving of a new home.
[ What We Do ]
We rescue dogs and puppies of all sizes, ages and breeds, from pounds and shelters across Victoria. Our rescue dogs are placed with our dedicated volunteer foster carers in their own home, where they are assessed in various environments so that more information about the dog's temperament in different situations is acquired. Basic training is given where needed. The dogs are then matched to the most suitable adopters. Whilst the dogs are in their foster homes Melbourne Dog Rescue find suitable homes for these rescued dogs
Melbourne Dog Rescue provide the necessary veterinary work for the rescue dog which includes desexing, vaccinations, worming, microchipping and flea treatments.
Melbourne Dog Rescue believe all dogs should be given a second chance at life. Dogs and puppies end up in pounds/shelters through no fault of their own. However only dogs of good temperament are rehomed. We do not rehouse dogs that have aggression issues, or dogs that would be considered a danger to the community. We are strong supporters of responsible pet ownership.
