Gavan is such a lovely old man! He is very loyal, and a fantastic all-round companion. He probably hasn't experience much love and affection in his life, but he is certainly getting lots of that now and is thriving!
For an older gent, Gav is still very spritely. He LOVES to chase his ball and obediently brings it back and drops it in your lap. He will jump and twist in the air to catch his ball like an old pro! He walks very well on lead, right beside you in fact, he is house trained, is fine with children, eats anything, and is very eager to please. He doesn’t yap at all, and rarely barks.
He LOVES to sit on your knee while you watch TV or read, he likes to do what you do. He really loves getting a good belly scratch. Gav isn’t timid, but clearly not used to all this attention, he is a little timid at times, but once he realises he can trust you, you have a friend for life.
Gave gets along well with other dogs, he is co existing very peacefully with 3 other dogs (2 of them large) Gavan loves company so we would love for him to go to a home with another dog, or with someone who is home a lot of the time. Gavan would be an ideal dog for a retired person/couple or even a family with older kids. Gavan is fine with small children, but he is getting older and the hustle and bustle can get a little much for him.
